Amazon to launch drone delivery service at University of Texas

According to "DroneDJ", Amazon will launch a drone delivery service in College Station, Texas. In fact, the city would form an interesting parallel with smaller, semi-rural Rockfield (pop. Compared. By contrast, Amazon’s new drone delivery site in Texas is a city of more than 123,000 residents and home to a major university, Texas A&M University.


So once the service is launched, the demand and frequency of Amazon Prime  delivery drone should be very different. So, logically, as the activity progresses, the lessons learned and improvements made will vary. As it did at College Station, Amazon said it plans to partner with researchers at Texas A&M University to benefit from "some of the great work they're doing in drone technology."

University officials welcomed Amazon's decision to grow its drone delivery operation in the town and use local resources to expand and refine it. "Being one of Amazon's first drone delivery locations puts College Station at the forefront of this exciting technology," said John Sharp, president of the Texas A&M University System. "What happens here will help advance the nation's Drone deliveries in other areas, perhaps other parts of the world. We welcome Amazon to our community and stand ready to assist where we can."
