Billy SDO 50 V2 VTOL is equipped with a 100km drone link to achieve BVLOS flight


SwissDrones has completed the first commercial BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) power line inspection in Belgium using the SDO 50 V2 VTOL. The flight took place in Belgium, Billy SDO 50 V2 VTOL is equipped with a 100km drone link with a single flight of more than 100 kilometers and a flight distance of more than 2 hours.


The SDO 50 V2 UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) is used to safely and efficiently inspect strategic areas and assets and can operate in extreme weather conditions. Suitable for aerial inspections of oil and gas rigs, as well as inspections of pipelines, wind farms, power lines, railway tracks and surface mining, unmanned helicopters can be operated when manned operations are not feasible or risky or cost prohibitive. In addition to inspections, the SDO 50 V2 can also be used for environmental monitoring, terrain and vegetation mapping. Further applications include detection of exhaust emissions and nuclear radiation.
