Swoop Aero will start drone delivery medical business in Namibia


It was reported on December 20 that, according to news from DroneDJ, drone logistics company Swoop Aero has made some impressive progress in commercial services this year. It has recently expanded its Ziplines’ service during medical evacuation across Africa. The “UAV Public Welfare” section is a bright spot.


Swoop Aero, headquartered in Melbourne, recently announced that it has decided to start drone logistics services in Namibia. The main focus is on the distribution of medical and health products in this southwestern African country, and it is planned to start in 2022.

Earlier this month, the company conducted a test flight of a new drone delivery service to be launched in Sierra Leone in cooperation with UAVaid. In March, the company won the Australian AAUS Humanitarian Achievement Award because its work in Malawi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Mozambique accelerated the transportation of treatment and test results between hospitals and remote villages in an effort to combat a range of diseases .

When starting medical drone logistics work in Namibia, Aero Swoop will seek to improve healthcare services for the 2.5 million residents in this vast country, where the socio-economic gap between cities and remote areas is equally huge.
