Logos Technologies launches MicroKestrel wide-area sensor for tethered drone systems

Logos Technologies LLC, a leader in the field of wide-area moving imagery (WAMI), announced today that it will launch its small, tethered, multi-rotor UAV system at the upcoming Association of the United States Army (Association of the United States Army) (UAS)'s New MicroKestrel Sensor (AUSA) Conference and Expo, Washington, DC

The idea of installing WAMI on small, tethered drones once seemed impossible. These sensors will now be able to operate on tethered drones or free-flying drones that have been connected to third-party tethering stations. This greatly expands the types of operators that can use WAMI.

“People who can never use a runway or catapult-launched drone, let alone a large predator, can open a container, set up a tethered drone, and launch the WAMI sensor into the air,” Rombough said. "Think about what this means for base protection, incident security, or other mission sets."

Logos Technologies will showcase MicroKestrel and other sensor systems at AUSA’s company booth (No. 1143) from October 11th to 13th.
