Royal Mail Group use drone to deliver packages


According to an article published on the adsgroup website on May 10, 2021, the Royal Mail Group announced this week an autonomous, regular flight test of drones conducted out of line of sight for the first time. The test was conducted between the British mainland and an island, which proved The company’s ability to use drone to delivery personal protective equipment, package, COVID-19 detection equipment, and other mail to the Isles of Scilly.


The trial is a project funded by the United Kingdom Research and Innovation Agency (UKRI). This project is to provide personal protective equipment and new crown virus detection equipment to remote islands to help fight the new crown epidemic.

Secretary of Commerce Paul Scully said: “The UK is at the forefront of the aviation revolution and is developing newer and more fuel-efficient technologies. The Royal Mail Group’s “air bridge” to the Isles of Scilly not only strengthens connections with remote areas, but also It also shows how drones can truly change our lives in the real world. With the support of government funding, initiatives like this will help us defeat COVID-19 and better recover from the pandemic."
