Swiss company Dufour Aerospace launches Aero2 evtol drone

According to "UAS Vision" news, Dufour Aerospace, an eVTOL development and production company based in Switzerland, launched Aero2 as the first commercial product in its tilt-wing eVTOL series. Aero2 is designed as a multi-purpose small unmanned aircraft with unparalleled operational flexibility and low operating costs.

It has a payload of up to 40 kg (88 lb), a maximum take-off weight of 150 kg (330 lb), and a maximum flight time of three hours under standard configuration. It is suitable for various customer applications.

Thomas Pfammatter, co-founder and CEO of Dufour Aerospace, said: "Aero2 is as versatile as the Swiss Army Knife. This innovative small drone will greatly support our customers' activities. With its quick-change nose cone, It is the perfect tool to carry the payload of different customers, whether it is in logistics, topographic surveying, surveying and mapping, surveying or public safety applications."

The first product in the Dufour tilt-wing series will fly at a cruising speed of up to 170 km/h (92 knots). In the VTOL configuration, it takes off and landed at the smallest landing point, occupying as little space as a traditional UAV. During the flight, it uses as little energy as traditional airplanes. The tilt wing design combines the best characteristics of helicopters and airplanes.

The fuselage is designed as quick release structure, with reliable electrical connection, plug and play; unfolding and withdrawal time is less than 10 minutes. The engine is rear-mounted and the load is placed forward to provide a larger field of view for the photoelectric load without obstruction.
