Bell APT 50KG delivery drone

On December 16, Bell announced that the APT70 logistics eVTOL UAV developed by it has flew 8 miles (12.8 kilometers) autonomously with a 110-pound (50 kg) payload for the first time on December 9. To date, APT drones have completed more than 300 test flights. Bell plans to use APT drones for demonstration flights in a variety of military and commercial application scenarios in 2021, while simplifying the user interface and enhancing autonomous functions.

Bell stated that the APT 70 logistics drone can transport up to 36 individual convenience foods (MRE), 72 individual canteens filled with water, 64 5.56 mm caliber magazines (1920 rounds), and 1 Gallons of fuel.

APT70 conducted its first autonomous flight test in August last year, and conducted its first out-of-sight test flight in July this year. The full name of APT is AutonomousPod Transport, which means autonomous cargo transportation. Bell announced the APT project in 2018. In October 2018, Bell signed a cooperation agreement with Japan's Yamato Transport to jointly develop APT and develop commercial operations. It plans to start commercial operations in 2025. The APT drone is fully electric and modular in design, with a load capacity of 10 kg to 500 kg and a maximum flight speed of 180 kilometers per hour. FLY-380 15KGS payload 2-4 hours endurance VTOL delivery drone

The FLY-380 VTOL delivery drone platform is equipped with industrial-grade vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing flight control and navigation system, as well as professional aerial aerial survey and inspection ground station software. It can ensure that the drone can fly autonomously throughout the process, without operator intervention to complete the autonomous take-off and flight status. In the flight phase of conversion, autonomous cruise, and autonomous landing, it also supports automatic route planning for 1000 waypoints and emergency standby plan for 100 waypoints.

The drone platform has the following features and advantages:

a) Practical and efficient: it has the characteristics of fixed-wing UAV’s long flight time, fast speed, long distance and large load;
b) Vertical take-off and landing: with the take-off and landing mode of the rotorless drone, greatly reducing the requirements for landing and landing and airspace;
c) low cost of use: no complicated and bulky launching and recycling equipment, no additional recycling sensors required;
d) Simple operation: integrated special flight control and navigation system, full autonomous flight, operators only need to send flight plans, no professional training and operational experience;
e) Compact system: no complicated auxiliary equipment, simple transportation, deployment, maintenance and withdrawal.
