The kyEye Sierra VTOL drone is easily modified to provide customized solutions for specific applications. It is an ideal solution to meet the needs of the Environmental Physics Group of the University of Tubingen led by Professor Jens Bange.
Professor Jens Bange and his team have been applying remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to atmospheric sciences for many years to study the processes of atmospheric flow and turbulence exchange and transport in the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL). This includes monitoring momentum, heat, water vapor, carbon dioxide, and aerosol flux. In addition to basic research, the team has also used this expertise in various wind energy research projects on sea and complex terrain.
