The drone transmits the emergency picture directly to the 911 call center for rescue

Public safety technology company Carbyne announced this week a partnership with Edgybees, a high-precision geo-registration software provider for aerial video. By transmitting real-time UAV video clips directly from the field to 911 dispatchers and command centers, the new integration will help improve response time and accuracy in emergency situations.

Edgybees' artificial intelligence-centric software solution will extend Carbyne's existing video image data set and provide high-precision geographic registration from any drone, which can then be transmitted to any application gateway connector.

"Carbyne can receive footage from any connected drone and transmit it directly to the 911 call center, which not only allows dispatchers and first responders to have a bird’s eye view of the area, but also provides additional key data points, such as specific street names or traffic Signal lights are used to pinpoint the exact location of the disaster," the Carbine media statement pointed out.

"This unique method generates real-time, detailed roads, key landmarks and other mission-critical data overlays on top of real-time video feeds, enabling defense, public safety, and critical infrastructure teams to quickly and safely complete life-saving and high-emergency missions."

Save lives with drones

Carbyne President Erez Tsur said that these improvements will help plug several operational loopholes that often plague emergency response systems. "It is clear that the outdated system needs to be improved to save more lives and simplify the overall approach," he said.

“Technical advancements in emergency response, such as the integration of real-time video and even drone functions, are simplifying mission-critical operations in unprecedented ways. Carbyne is eager to work with Edgybees to improve the accuracy of our platform, improve life-saving measures, and face dangers Or achieve unprecedented positioning accuracy during disasters."

The Edgybees platform has been deployed to several major disaster areas, including wildfires in California and Australia.

Adam Kaplan, CEO of Edgybees, said: "Adding real-time video and enhancing the accurate geographic location of roads and key landmarks, the use of the Carbyne emergency collaboration platform provides a higher level of visibility for response centers.

Develop safety standards

As drone technology continues to demonstrate its value to public safety agencies, government agencies are stepping up to provide new funding. In April, the U.S. Department of Commerce awarded a grant to the Airborne International Response Team (AIRT) to help public safety programs develop standards and training programs.

“This grant will be used for AIRT’s DronERESPONDERS program to help implement the sUAS standard test method developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as a means of objectively assessing aircraft capabilities and measuring key training through remote pilot proficiency. One way, and to support pilot certification,” said an AIRT press release.
